Cementing itself as a must see event in the summer calendar for 20,000 music goers in and around the capital, Live At Chelsea are delighted to announce that legendary British band Wet Wet Wet will headline on Saturday 18th June at the stunning historic home of the Chelsea Pensioners. The news follows the earlier announcement that seminal British R&B group Simply Red will perform on Sunday 19th June.
Having sold over 15 million records worldwide, enjoyed numerous No.1 singles amongst their 30 UK chart hits, 2016 is a particularly significantly year as the band celebrate the 20th anniversary of their classic smash hit album, Picture This.
Bringing some of their most well known songs to the unique setting of the courtyard of The Royal Hospital Chelsea, expect to hear the classics ‘Julia Says’, ‘Don’t Want To Forgive Me Now’, and of course, one of the longest-standing No.1 singles in British chart history, ‘Love Is All Around’.
As the only concert series staged at this beautiful venue, Live At Chelsea is hosted in a fully seated auditorium in the Royal Hospital Chelsea’s central courtyard - the Hospital itself was founded by King Charles II in 1682 and is home to the Chelsea Pensioners, 300 retired soldiers (many of whom attended the shows, with the London Evening Standard noting how Alison Moyet “charmed” the Pensioners in Chelsea).
A portion of the ticket sale proceeds will also go towards funding care for the Chelsea Pensioners (retired soldiers) who live at The Royal Hospital, as well as helping to fund the ongoing maintenance of the Grade I listed site.
