Dan Caplen
VENUE: Jazz Cafe
DC SQ 2709 Since the release of his ‘Badman’ EP in 2016, Dan Caplen has been earning himself a reputation as a powerful and soulful singer-songwriter, and earlier this year he completed a European tour with US rapper Macklemore. When you add “These Days” – the Platinum-selling, UK #1 chart smash he wrote for Rudimental (and also sang on) into the mix – it’s not bad going for a 26 year old who was still doing part time odd jobs only three years ago.

His debut single proper, ‘Flat Champagne’, was released in summer 2017 and featured BBC Sound Poll winner, Ray BLK – a primer of sorts to ‘These Days’, which saw his penchant for conveying rich emotions and writing classy, earworm hooks fully realised. His follow up single, ‘Trouble’, ft. Ms Banks – an uplifting, charismatic pop record - was released in June 2018, furthering Caplen’s reputation as one of the UK’s brightest new talents.
