Simply Red have announced a London outdoor show for 2022 taking place at the Royal Hospital Chelsea – home of the Chelsea Pensioners.
The show will see the glorious courtyard of the Royal Hospital Chelsea transformed into one of the most stunning and unique concert venues in the country.
Fronted by Mick Hucknall, Simply Red have over a billion hits on You Tube, and have sold over 60 million albums worldwide, 5 going to number one in the UK. Their 1991 classic ‘Stars’ was the best-selling album for 2 years running in Britain and Europe. They have had 2 US Billboard chart toppers with classic singles ‘Holding Back The Years’ and ‘If You Don’t Know Me By Now’, along with their UK hits ‘Fairground’ and ‘Money’s Too Tight (To Mention)’. Every Simply Red studio album has been a UK top 10, including 2019’s ‘Blue Eyed Soul’ – their twelfth studio album.
Also previously announced at the Royal Hospital Chelsea is Olly Murs, who will perform on Friday 17th June and Paul Weller who will perform on Sunday 19th June.
The Live At Chelsea Concert Series will return for its 6th year in 2022, having established itself firmly as a welcome fixture in the summer calendar for many. This is in no small part due to the eclectic range of artists who have been featured previously, including Rufus Wainwright, Toto, Jeff Beck, Ludovico Einaudi, Belle & Sebastian, Kaiser Chiefs, Tom Jones, amongst many more. As well as this, audiences can look forward to the warm welcome from the Chelsea Pensioners themselves.
Every year a portion of the ticket sales from the event is donated towards the care of the Chelsea Pensioners, as well as the maintenance of the Grade I listed site which has provided care and comradeship to ex-military personnel since 1682 when it was founded by King Charles II.
