VENUE: The Slaughtered Lamb
34-35 Great Sutton Street, Clerkenwell, London EC1V 0DX
22-year-old post-soul artist Talulah Ruby was raised on a Spanish island by British parents before relocating to Dalston a year ago to learn production and immerse herself in the East London music scene. With her powerful, dynamic vocals at the forefront of her music, Talulah Ruby blends live instruments with electronic sensibility as a backdrop for classic soul songwriting.
Speaking about her new single, Talulah Ruby says: “I Don’t Feel Like Me comes from an introverted, personal place, in contrast to my first single, Hot Water, which holds a responsibility and an indisputable message. I wrote both songs in the same set up and with the same person, but in completely different head spaces. Hot Water is assertive and almost demanding, but ultimately inclusive, whereas I Don’t Feel Like Me has an honest, post-defeat feel about it.”
