pecq are producer and multi-instrumentalist duo Hannah (Jakes) Jacobs (synth player for Barry Can’t Swim/Arlo Parks) and Niko O'Brien (audio engineer for the likes of Liz Fraser and Porij).

Formed in a Paris basement and now based in London, the innovative pair create 'pop at its most exploratory' [Clash], ‘traversing the blissful margins between indie-electronica, psychedelic ambience and skittering electro-pop’ [DJ Mag].

Referencing the experimental, spiralling work of Boards Of Canada and Ultraísta and the emotive songwriting of Little Dragon, Robyn and Caribou as influences on their music, pecq bring together a broad set of influences, moving through choppy dance beats, twisting alt-pop melodies and blissful ambient daydreams. Crunchy drums slowly morph into glitchy samples, synth tones and soft piano come in and out of focus, sounds re-sampled and mangled through DIY studio equipment, woven together with Jakes’s arresting, ethereal vocal.

Since their 2021 debut, they’ve had consistent support from the scene and their latest record ‘red moon, rare night’ received rave reviews from the likes of BBC Radio 1, BBC 6 Music, Amazing Radio Top 40, DJ Mag, Selector Radio (One to Watch 2024), Apple Music, DIY and Wonderland.

Dividing their time between producing and recording other artists, as well as scoring for film and television (including a recent collaboration with outdoor brand Berghaus), the duo are as comfortable writing arrangements for orchestra or improvising live with modular synth as they are in the world of electronic music. Their creativity and musicianship are on full display in their live show - a kaleidoscopic feast of ethereal vocals, driving indie drums, swirling synths and uplifting EDM outros.
