Over 55 years since they released their first album together, Brian Jackson announces that he’s stepping on stage to transport us back to the rich indulgent sound of Gil Scott-Heron ‘live’ for one night only, at the Royal Albert Hall; accompanied by iconic US rapper, Yasiin Bey. One half of the Scott-Heron/Jackson legendary duo, Brian has chosen his own birthday as the special night to bring this incredible show to London, igniting the RAH with a roof-busting explosion of jazz, blues,soul, spoken word and poetry, in memory of his illustrious partner, Gil Scott Heron.

Ahead his time, pioneer Jackson came together with Scott-Heron and the pair wrote songs that depicted the social and political context of their time. Their music fused a rich musicality that borrows from jazz, blues and soul, a sound which became timeless and iconic. Their catalogue has travelled through time and generations and has been a source of sample material for decades. Artists such as Tupac, Common, Kanye West and Kendrick Lamar, among others, have found inspiration in their tracks.

Joining Brian on this very special night is Yasiin Bey, an acclaimed American rapper, singer, and actor, who emerged in the 1990s as a foundational figure in conscious hip-hop. Bey is celebrated for his razor-sharp lyricism, socio-political commentary, and successful transition into a multifaceted Hollywood career, all of which will bring an extra dimension to this incredible Gil Scott-Heron celebration.
